10th Edition Pumps & Valves

04.06.2004

The 10th edition of Pumps & Valves, the trade fair for industrial pumps, control valves, shut-off valves, services and accessories will be held fro Wednesday 13 through Friday 15 October 2004 in the Antwerp Expo (Bouwcentrum).

For the past nine editions Pumps & Valves was mainly a trade fair at which products were presented, mainly pumps and valves for the industry. Over the years this trade fair has evolved from a product exhibition to a meeting platform, a dynamic event in which the concepts “transfer of know-how” and “search for solutions” are increasingly becoming the focus of attention.

Today, 5 months before the fair opening all the available stand space for Pumps & Valves 2004 in the Antwerp Expo has been filled by some 150 exhibitors. Steven Duytschaever of Fairtec says: “We had to create a considerable amount of extra space to meet demand; we had to diminish the surface of the bistros.”

第十版强调创新aspects. In view of the growing visitor interest for maintenance companies they will form their own circuit at Pumps & Valves 2004 throughout the halls under the denomination ‘Maintenance Circuit’. Using demonstrations and test set-ups this circuit explains the various aspects of advanced maintenance. Visitors who follow (part of) the Maintenance Circuit receive a gift, stressing the festive character of this 10th anniversary edition of Pumps & Valves.

The success of the Service Village at Pumps & Valves 2002, i.e. a collection of service companies in training, software, engineering and quality control is being continued in an adapted form.

The seminar programme virtually exclusively consists of sessions of amongst others VIK, EHEDG (with a one-day Benelux Symposium for the food and pharmaceutical industry), Agoria and Bemas. The seminars focus on topical points and new regulations which a major section of the sector now faces, as well as on innovations that generate considerable interest.

On 15 March 2004, within the scope of the announcement of the fair, a round-table discussion was organised at which associations (Fedichem, Agoria, BEMAS and the Pompenkring), manufacturers, distributors and especially users from the industry were able to have their say, more specifically Agfa-Gevaert, Bayer, Campina and Vandemoortele. They debated before the assembled trade press on the following subjects: REACH (compulsory registration for the preparation of chemical substances), contamination problems, outsourcing for maintenance, ATEX.
