Eaton Hydraulics Announces Fluids Laboratory Accredited

31.01.2001

EDEN PRAIRIE, MINNESOTA… Eaton Corporation's Hydraulic Fluid Analysis Services Laboratory recently earned accreditation by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation. This Southfield Michigan lab is one of the first labs in the country to achieve conformance with the new ISO/IEC 17025-1999 requirement, "General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories." The lab also operates in accordance with ISO 9001.

认证地址followi的性能ng tests on hydraulic fluid:

  • Particle Counting
  • Microscopic Evaluation
  • Spectrometric Analysis
  • Total Acid Number

    Viscosity

  • Moisture Determinant (KF)
  • XRF Semi-Quantitative Analysis
  • pH

Among the best features of the labs are the reports provided to its customers. A detailed report complete with photos and 3-D charts and graphs provides a comprehensive analysis on the customer's fluid sample. (Click here to view a sample report.) Reports are sent to the customer within 24 hours after receipt of the fluid sample. The reports can be mailed, faxed, or if the customer prefers, e-mailed as soon as they are complete providing information that may even help prevent a system failure.

另一个因素使伊顿流体实验室里ry service the best in the market is the new XRF Spectrometer machine. This remarkable machine scans the contaminants found in the fluid sample, and identifies any and all elements present over an atomic weight of 10, and provides the percentage of each element by weight. Knowing what elements are present and their concentration can help customers find the source of contamination, so corrective action can be taken. For example, a scan might reveal an excessive amount of silicon in the sample leading the investigators to an inefficient breather. Fixing the breather will correct the problem, doing anything else may only mask the problem for a short time.
