Increasing limitations on sludge disposal is pushing industrial companies to rethink onsite wastewater treatment processes, says Simon Kimber, director, WPL & Atana. This means efficient dewatering to reduce sludge volumes has never been more vital.

Industrial wastewater treatment specialists WPL and Atana, part of WCS Environmental Engineering, have doubled their combined hire fleet to meet demand as legislation tightens over disposal of liquid sludge to farmland. A significant investment has been made in sludge dewatering and wastewater treatment equipment.

Framo has invested to become joint partner with fish farming company Lingalaks in the company StadionLaks. The two companies aim to collaborate on the development of the Stadion Basin innovation project, a closed, floating production system for salmon, scheduled for completion in 2023.
