Pumps & Valves 2002: 90% sold-out 7 months prior to the opening of the fair

17.06.2002

在七个月前的Pumps & Valves 2002 trade fair in the Bouwcentrum in Antwerp, 90 % of the available space has already been reserved by no fewer than 120 exhibitors. Because of this early and impressive registration, extra booth space will be created in Exhibition Hall 1.

The organiser Fairtec nv is already concentrating on a new initiative, namely the "Service Village", the peripheral program and the communications with potential visitors.

Already in 8 previous editions, Pumps & Valves has offered a bi-annual summary of products and services for industrial pumps, control valves, shut-off valves, and accessory products. This year, through the creation of the Service Village, services like maintenance, training, quality control, standardisation and certification, software and engineering, are grouped together. These services are frequently performed by a business unit of organisations that are already listed on the exchange or are being outsourced to specialised businesses/associations. In order to give them the opportunity to profile themselves at the fair with a limited investment, there is the option for a group booth (village) provided with ready-made units. Visitors can come to this booth to seek answers to their questions and problems. In addition, there is the Service Village, a source of information for the specialist who wants the keep up-to-date on the fast-evolving techniques in this sector.

The new initiative of the Service Village was created to satisfy market demand. Fairtec closely cooperates with different enterprises in the sector as it is keeping contact with the core target group of exhibitors and trade visitors. One may mention that during the last meeting for gathering recommendations, there were discussions about the peripheral program for the exchange market. In contrast to the previous edition of Pumps & Valves in 2000, seminars will be organised with for their first subjects: Life Cycle Cost (LCC) and Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).

Finally, an effort is being made to communicate effectively with the potential target visitor group. In the first instance, this month, the website www.pumps-valves.com is activated. On this site, all surfers can find an up-to-date list of the participating firms with a search function per country, product/services or firm name, so that interested parties can already prior to the fair take contact with the exhibitors. In addition, it is possible to register via the site as a visitor and to apply for an admission badge. These parties are as of their date of registration kept up-to-date via E-mail on the fair’s schedule and about information issuing from the sector.

At the Internet and in the exhibitors’ guide, the exhibitors can find a summary of the media-partners in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and France with appropriate addresses for the editorial and advertising departments, to allow them to plan their media-campaigns in an effective manner.
