Tri-Ark Launches New Range Of Pump Diaphragms

23.02.2001

A new range of low cost diaphragms for air-operated double diaphragm pumps has been announced by Tri-Ark Ltd, a leading independent supplier of air-operated double-diaphragm pumps and components to UK industry.

With over 35 years experience in the pumping and chemical industry, Tri-Ark has been able to specify precisely the material used to give optimum performance. The new diaphragms are manufactured from a specially modified PTFE material.

This particular formulation shows excellent resistance to aggressive fluids and has a wide operating temperature range. The static and dynamic friction coefficient are numerically equal, preventing "stick slip".

Modified PTFE offers a number of benefits compared to normal (homopolymer) PTFE, and in particular for diaphragm applications, has good deflection characteristics. This gives excellent durability and reliability in use and allows higher flow rates to be accommodated.

Pumps for which the Tri-Ark diaphragms are currently available are 1" and 2" SandPIPER¨ pumps from Warren-Rupp and 1.5" and 2" air-operated double-diaphragm pumps from Wilden¨.
