New Dosing Pump from Verder

A global manufacturer of scented plastic garbage bags was looking for an alternative to the use of pre-scented plastic pellets. A serendipitous encounter at a tradeshow led them to a precision gear metering pump solution that gave them accuracy and consistency at the low flow rates required, while also reducing their costs and improving worker health.

Upgrade of chemical dosing equipment at a wastewater treatment plant in Germany is delivering high performance on phosphorus removal, says Thomas Klobuczynski, industrial sales engineer, Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions.

At a nickel-cobalt mine in Papua New Guinea, until the end of 2017 cost-optimized diaphragm pumps from a regional manufacturer were used to pump 98 percent sulfuric acid. Sulfuric acid is required for the extraction of nickel from laterite. However, as the units previously used had a high failure rate and long downtimes, those responsible decided to replace them with new models.
